First Visit
What to Expect
The goal of this visit is to educate you! Dr. Quimby or Dr. Collins will explain the specific orthodontic issues facing you or your child and will recommend a plan to achieve a smile that is not only beautiful but is also in harmony with your individual facial structure. At the initial visit, Dr. Quimby or Dr. Collins will personally discuss your diagnosis and treatment options. Speaking directly with a doctor at this stage is critical as it allows you to get immediate answers to your treatment questions. This is unlike most orthodontic offices who will have a treatment coordinator conduct this important dialogue. Because of the importance of this conversation, we ask that you plan on this appointment lasting one full hour.
Questions we will answer for you:
- Is there an issue that orthodontics can address?
- Is treatment needed now or should treatment be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred?
- What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?
- Do any permanent teeth need to be removed?
- How long will treatment take?
- How much will it cost?
- What are my payment options?
Not Ready for Treatment?
We may determine further growth and development is needed before treatment is necessary. We will schedule the appropriate annual or bi-annual appointments to monitor growth and tooth development
Ready to Go!
We may establish that you are ready for treatment to begin. We will then schedule the diagnostic appointments needed to get your great smile underway!
Please bring any panoramic X-rays taken within the past six months to your consultation. Also, if you have orthodontic insurance, please bring your insurance card as this will assist us in creating a treatment estimate.
